Research Associate, CLeaR, the University of Auckland, New Zealand
Jenny McDonald recently joined the CLeaR at the University of Auckland as a Research Associate. She was previously Lecturer in e-Learning/Higher Education at the University of Otago. Jenny has more than sixteen years of experience in the tertiary sector supporting the thoughtful integration of technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Her development of a tutorial dialogue system to support first-year teaching in physiology has grown into a research focus on discourse-centric learning analytics.
Summary Effective adoption of learning analytics by teachers is required to realise its potential. Barriers to adoption include data access, data analysis skills, and ethical concerns.
