Australia and New Zealand ORCID Consortia & RAiD
The Australian and New Zealand ORCID Consortiums have teamed up with RAiD the Research Activity Identifier project at THETA to provide you with a one stop shop for understanding everything you need to know about persistent identifiers.
ORCID is an Open Research and Contributor Identifier that has been developed for researchers and provides them with a unique 16-digit identifier for life. A researchers ORCID is owned by them and follows them through their career. It is free to all researchers and helps them to distinguish their research work and activities from others.
A RAiD (Research Activity Identifier) is a unique and persistent digital identifier for research activities. It connects institutions, people and resources associated with a research activity. RAID complements the GRID (Global Research Identifier Database) identifier for research organisations and the ORCID identifier for researchers.
